Announcing SongMakers Academy 2025

What is SongMakers Academy?
The SongMakers Academy is an exciting opportunity for 16 young songwriters between the ages of 16-19 who participated in the Victorian SongMakers workshops (either in a school workshop or holiday program) in 2024 and 2025.
During an intensive 3 days under the mentorship of industry professionals, participants will write, produce, and record THREE original songs in professional recording studios in Melbourne’s inner north.
When is SongMakers Academy?
SongMakers Academy will take place over 3 days, from 30th September to 2nd October 2025 (the second week of the Spring School Holidays).
Please note, you must be able to attend the whole 3-day program from 9AM-4:30PM September 30, October 1 & October 2.
Where is SongMakers Academy?
The SongMakers Academy will take place across 3 professional recording studios in Collingwood – Rolling Stock Recording Rooms, Carriage Studio and Red Door Sounds.

The SongMakers Academy is free for all participants! Catering will also be provided for all 3 days.
If you live in a regional area of Victoria and are successful in your application, your travel and accommodation costs will be covered for you and a guardian for the 3 days in Melbourne.
If you are under 18 and require accommodation, your guardian must stay at the hotel with you for the full duration.
One of the recording studios has wheelchair access through the shopfront below with a lift directly into the studio.
