Workshops

Mentoring next-gen hit makers in high schools across Victoria

The SongMakers core program consists of a two-day intensive workshops that unite aspiring songwriters, producers, and artists with industry professionals to collaboratively compose and record original music within a school setting. The Victorian program also incorporates a third, flexible session specifically tailored to delve into the art of production.

At the heart of the program is a unique connection between accomplished songwriters and producers with young people and educators. This innovative approach fosters a dynamic collaboration between schools and the industry, promoting shared creativity and fresh perspectives.

The Victorian SongMakers workshops span two full days, supplemented by a flexible third session lasting 2.5 hours, exclusively dedicated to production. We are committed to supporting practical contemporary music education in schools, contributing to the cultivation of a robust songwriting culture in Victoria and empowering more young individuals with new skills, knowledge and understanding of the music industry and its opportunities. Simultaneously, we aim to equip young participants with transferable work-ready skills applicable to diverse industries.

If you're interested in bringing the SongMakers experience to your school, Expressions of Interest (EOI) for 2024 are now open!

The Victorian SongMakers program has been made possible with the support of the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and the Community Support Fund.
