The New South Wales SongMakers Program is presented by APRA AMCOS with generous support from Sound NSW.

we do
What is the academy?
During an intensive three days under the mentorship of industry professionals, participants will write, produce, and record three original songs in professional recording studios.
SongMakers Academy was life changing for me, I literally have not stopped talking about it...Best part of my musical journey so far.

WHO CAN DO SONGMAKERS ACADEMY?
The SongMakers Academy is an exciting opportunity for young songwriters between the ages of 16-19 who participated in a SongMakers workshop in Victoria or New South Wales in the past three years.
WHEN IS THE SONGMAKERS ACADEMY?
The SongMakers Academy will take place over three days, in the second week of the Spring school holidays.
Please note, you must be able to attend all three days from 9AM – 5PM.

The SongMakers Academy is free for all participants! Catering will also be provided for all three days.
If you live in a regional area of VIC or NSW and are successful in your application, your travel and accommodation costs will be covered for you and a guardian for all three days.
If you are under 18 and require accommodation, your guardian must stay at the hotel with you for the full duration.
HOW TO APPLY?
Applications close: Sunday 30 August 2026 @ 11:59pm.
Successful applicants will be notified by email on Friday 4 September 2026.
**Each state has a specific application form. Make sure you apply via the correct application form, either VIC or NSW.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY

Contact info (e.g. email, phone etc) from you and your guardian / emergency contact.
Where & when, name of your song, how you were involved in the writing and recording.
Instruments you play, if you sing, what’s your writing style & favourite genres to listen to.
Voice memos, videos taken on your phone, anything you have to showcase your work.
**Google Drive & Dropbox work great, but please make sure that anyone with the link can access.

Three professional recording studios in Collingwood – Rolling Stock Recording Rooms, Carriage Studio and Red Door Sounds.
