Students ask our panel of experts what it takes to have real world success as a songwriter or producer. Join KLP, John Foreman, Ilan Kidron, Robert Conley and emerging artist (and songmakers alum) Sonia de Pellegrin at our special Q&A.
After a big two days on SongMakers at Bellarine Secondary College, mentors Grant Windsor and Robert Conley talk us through what the what, how and why of being a writer/producer.
Are you a new songwriter or producer?
As soon as you create a piece of music you (and your co-writers, if you have collaborated) have copyright in it. Find out what that means.
If your music gets performed – by you or someone else – it can make you money.
Writing and Demo’ing, Collabs and Careers
Even if your school can’t host a workshop, you can give your students a SongMakers experience. Designed to support the Australian Curriculum (The Arts) in music, there’s real world collaboration, writing to a deadline, strategies for starting from scratch, the importance of demo’ing your work and how to make money from your music. The workbooks are FREE for your use in an educational context and may not be used for commercial purposes.
