One academic undergraduate JMC Academy-APRA AMCOS Songwriting Scholarship is being offered per campus (Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane), covering one year of tuition fees equivalent to a Higher Education Diploma qualification.
The scholarship does not cover books, software, computers, consumables, stationery, flights or accommodation.
Eligibility
Any student who has completed a SongMakers workshop since the program began in 2013 is eligible to apply for one of three, fully-paid, exclusive scholarships in the Diploma of Music (Songwriting) course.
Australian citizens or permanent residents who are able to demonstrate a passion and aptitude for Songwriting.
Students applying for a 2017 scholarship must be in year 11 or year 12 during the year 2017. Should a year 11 student be successful in their application, this may be deferred to entry 2018. Refer to deferment below.
Aptitude will be demonstrated through academic merit, musical craft, lyrical craft and a statement of intent.
Offers
Applications close 5.00pm Friday 16 December 2016.
Short listed applicants will be notified by 9 January 2017 with a view to attending an Interview within January 2017.
Students who attend an interview must submit a copy of their ATAR, OP or equivalent examination score prior to the interview, or may bring a copy with them to the interview.
Successful applicants will be notified of their scholarship award by the 20 January 2017.

If you are the successful winner of the Scholarship award, you must confirm your ability to accept the award with acceptance of the terms
and conditions, those of which are outlined in the eligibility criteria above and as stated in the JMC Academy Student Handbook, issued at the scholarship
interview, by email or letter by 5.00pm Wednesday 25 January 2017.
This award may not be redeemed for cash or any monetary exchange.
Deferral
For students who find they need to defer their scholarship, including those students in year 11 in 2017, you must first confirm that deferrals are permitted in your course.
If you are approved to defer your course place, you must first accept the scholarship offer before you submit a request to defer the start date of
your scholarship.
Diploma Scholarships can only have a maximum deferral period of two trimesters.
Forfeit of Scholarship
Scholarships may be forfeited if the scholarship award holder in the opinion of JMC Academy management and faculty:
Fails to abide by the conduct rules outlined in the JMC Academy student handbook
Fails their examinations without good cause
Fails to comply with the ambassadorial requirements of this role.
Discontinues studies at JMC Academy
Commits a breach of the rules and conditions outlined in the Conditions of scholarship acceptance criteria
Students unable to maintain a credit average in academic performance.
